How Sunrig works

The whole loop in plain words, and a straight list of what is running today.

Overview

Sunrig is a launchpad for coins on Solana. Each coin's trading fees rent real mining hashpower. What that hashpower earns is paid to the coin's holders, and every holder picks the asset they want to be paid in: SOL, Gold, Silver or Oil.

  1. Launch. A creator launches a coin with a name, ticker and image.
  2. Fees rent hashpower. A share of each trade's fee goes to the coin's fee vault, which pays for hashpower rentals.
  3. Hashpower mines. Rented rigs mine to a pool; hashrate and earnings are read from the provider.
  4. Holders get paid. Earnings are split by holding and sent in each holder's chosen asset.

Fees to hashpower

Each coin will have a fee vault on Solana. The vault tops up hashpower rentals with a provider such as a hashpower marketplace. Rentals are paid in what the provider accepts (often BTC), so the vault needs a conversion step before each top-up.

The provider is not chosen yet. The server has an adapter interface (lib/hashpower/) with a none provider in use today and documented stubs for MiningRigRentals and NiceHash. Until a real adapter is connected, every coin shows Hashpower source: not connected yet.

Payout assets

Holders choose one of four real Solana tokens. If you never choose, you are paid in SOL.

Silver (SLVon) has thin on-chain liquidity (about $45k at last check). Large silver payouts may be batched or face more slippage. Oil (USO) is a tokenized share of the United States Oil Fund issued via Backpack; it tracks oil futures, not spot oil.

Signing your choice

On the Payouts page, connect Phantom, Solflare or Backpack, pick an asset and click Sign & save. Your wallet signs a plain text message that names the site, your address, your pick and the time.

  • It is not a transaction: no funds move and no fee is paid.
  • The server verifies the ed25519 signature against your address before saving.
  • Messages expire after 10 minutes and can not be replayed; a newer signature always wins.
  • Your choice applies to every Sunrig coin you hold.

Launching

The launch form is complete: name, ticker, image upload with preview, description and socials. The server validates every field and the image file itself.

Launches are switched off on the server. Submitting the form returns a clear Launches open soon response; nothing is created and nothing is charged. When they open, a coin launches on pump.fun (SOL pair): your own wallet signs and pays the network fee, account rent and any optional dev buy, and Sunrig never holds your keys. The coin's on-chain creator is the Sunrig fee vault, so its creator trading fees go to renting hashpower. A coin is listed on Sunrig only after its transaction is verified on-chain.

Charts and data

Coin charts use TradingView Lightweight Charts with candles and volume. For real coins, candles come from GeckoTerminal by trading pool, cached on the server. The example coin uses generated sample candles, marked as such. Payout asset prices come from the Jupiter Price API, cached for 30 seconds; if Jupiter is unreachable the site shows the last good prices marked stale, or no number at all.
